2.0

so last night after the events meeting i went to, i decided to watch "lost in translation" for one reason or another.
it had been a few years since the last time id seen it.
i guess i forgot how much i love that movie.
like anything, there are a few things that bug me about it, but thats fine.
first off, it got me thinking about how badly i just want to get out of the country for a bit. i haven't gone anywhere significant (outside of roller derby trips) since i studied in italy, and that was when i was in school.
so if anyone wants to get away and go to europe or asia with me - hit me up.
it also got me thinking about my own contentment issues. i think that i'm getting better about this, but i don't think that it's really a "problem" at all to be discontented with where you're at at times. i think that if i was always perfectly content with my life and what i am that life would get boring.
this isn't to say that i'm not happy with who i am or the choices that i've made, but rather that there's always something to be done and something to change for your own betterment or for the betterment of others.
i generally find that i'm more concerned with the latter.
id like to say that it all boils down to everyone wanting to love and be loved.
sometimes i don't think that its that simple, but then again maybe it is.
or maybe this is just the cold medicine talking.
i also think that i have a tendency to rush into things (ie. relationships, commitments, dance moves), and i'm trying not to do that as much with certain aspects of my life. this isnt to avoid being spontaneous or anything, but i guess just to be smart.
the past two relationships that i've been in were short-lived and i suppose that they weren't very well thought-through.
i don't regret these relationships in the least. both of the people i was with were solid people and i enjoyed my time with them and i definitely grew as a person as a result of being with them - so i don't want to come off as sounding negative or anything like that (although i still don't understand how someone could just ditch hamsters on someone that was taking care of them).
no - this is me *trying* to be smart.
i say "trying" because im pretty good at being an idiot.
in more ways than one..... but deal with it... i am.
all that being said, im pretty happy these days - despite being a little sickly still.

im pretty sure that i had a point in all of this.... but i lost it.
this post was kindly interrupted by 2 meetings and general work shenanigans... including discussions about NPH and unicorns.

that is all.

fin.
