redundancies.

i know that it's all over the news and whatnot, but this NIU shooting is jacked up.
i won't go into it too much because i'm sure that i dont have anything new to say that you havent already heard, but i will say that if nothing else i am very glad that (to my knowledge) all of my friends out there are safe and no physical harm came to them.
again, plenty more could be said... but i'm not the one to say it i'm sure.

moving on.
last night i was called right before leaving work by my fantastical friend, gina. she was going out to dinner with her friend matt and his boyfriend and asked me along. the only person that i was really interested in really spending much time with on valentine's day other than strict friends had previous (awesome) plans, so this worked out. we went to an Etheopian place way up North on Broadway. it was different but very good. kinda messed with my body a little bit afterwards, but that went away. hah.
later on in the evening i got a text message saying to hit up club foot, so i went there around 1a for a couple drinks and a round of Tetris... then taxied Chrissy a couple blocks to her place, then dropped off Terra.
i won't say much but i will say that i am glad that i went out.

in other news, im going to Austin, TX to hang out with my friend Deanna that I met down there thru Katie when we were at derby nationals. im super stoked about that. not just to hang out with Deanna and get to some warmer weather (if only a handful of degrees), but just to have a slight change of pace and to go somewhere with no real agenda.
and now another friend of mine will be there at the same time, with an equally loose and non-specific agenda, so that will be fantastic as well. i leave in two weeks from today... and dear heavens it wont come soon enough. at the same time, im sure itll be here before i know it.

at that, i will return to my work.
